Power100 is proud and deeply grateful to share that PowerChat, the national leadership interview show hosted by Power100 founder and CEO Greg Cummings, has been named the No. 3 most influential podcast serving home improvement, home services and outdoor living professionals by HG HomeClub. The recognition places PowerChat among the top three shows on HG HomeClub’s ranking of the 25 most influential podcasts in the trades, alongside programs with a much longer history and far larger archives.
For the Power100 team, this is not a moment to take a victory lap. It is a moment to say thank you. Thank you to HG HomeClub for the careful, independent work behind the list. Thank you to the CEOs, executives, partners, manufacturers, coaches and trainers who have sat across from Greg Cummings and shared the real story behind their companies. And thank you to every contractor, team member and homeowner who has watched, listened, shared an episode or used a conversation to make a better decision.
PowerChat was created with a simple mission: “Redefine the Industry Standard.” Seeing that mission recognized by an outside media platform that does not sell placement tells the Power100 team that the work is reaching the people it was built to serve.
“The philosophy that we have, and then there’s no exception to this rule ever is going to be that great companies have great leaders,” Greg Cummings has said. “There’s no exception to that rule.” Every episode of PowerChat starts from that belief. If leadership is what separates great companies, then the leader is the story worth telling.

There are many awards in the trades. What makes this one meaningful to Power100 is how it was earned.
HG HomeClub was created to bring home improvement media back to what its founders call “informed transparency.” The platform curates the top stories, headlines, rankings, videos, podcasts, webinars and events across home improvement, home services and outdoor living, giving homeowners and contractors one place to find information they can trust. That mission sits very close to the reason Power100 exists.
HG HomeClub’s editorial team did not rank podcasts by download counts. Those numbers are reported in different ways across the podcast world, are rarely checked by anyone outside the show, and measure audience size rather than real usefulness. Instead, HG HomeClub weighed six things: practical value to contractors, industry influence and recognition, the credibility of hosts and guests, depth and originality, consistency and longevity, and reach across audio, video, social media and industry events.
Just as important, the list was produced independently. HG HomeClub has no ownership, corporate, commercial, advertising or editorial relationship with Power100, with PowerChat, or with any other show on the list. No placement was purchased, requested or sponsored. No show had a say in its own position.
That matters to Power100 because it is the same standard the company holds itself to. Power100 has built its name on rankings that cannot be bought. To be recognized by another platform that refuses to sell recognition is the kind of validation the team values most.
Most business podcasts in the trades grow out of one company’s expertise. A contractor shares what worked. A software company gathers its users. A coach teaches a method. Those shows do important work, and many of them sit on the same list.
PowerChat was built differently. It lives inside Power100, the platform Greg Cummings founded to evaluate home improvement leaders, and its interviews are part of that evaluation work.
“We interview CEOs on site with a feature piece and then we also go and interview their executive team,” Greg Cummings explained on the F&D Mastery Podcast. “Again, this is a part of the evaluation verification process.”
That structure shapes every conversation. Many guests on PowerChat lead companies whose numbers, culture and customer experience have already been reviewed by Power100. The questions go deeper because the homework has been done. The answers tend to be more honest because the guest knows the conversation is about how the company really runs, not just how it wants to be seen.
The show’s official feed describes its focus plainly: it “focuses on the Nation’s best Home Remodeler CEOs and their Partners, Manufacturers and Clients,” as the PowerChat podcast feed puts it. HG HomeClub’s team weighed that level of access, and the reach of the platform behind it, more heavily than the size of the archive. Power100 is thankful that the depth of those conversations was noticed.
The authority behind the microphone comes from the field first. Before Power100, Greg Cummings took over a window company, rebranded it, rebuilt it into a whole-home replacement business and scaled it quickly before stepping away over a difference in strategy about where the company should go next.
What he did after that experience explains why PowerChat exists.
“I built this massive case study on how great companies are led and what separates great companies from the competition,” Greg Cummings said. “And ultimately, what I saw was there is no third-party unbiased platform that ranked the companies in the home improvement space. And I thought this was insane considering how much money people were spending, and they didn’t have a place to go that was a truly unbiased platform. So, we created one.”
Power100 began as a window list in Florida. It grew into exteriors, and then into home improvement, home services and outdoor living. Through every stage, the goal has stayed the same.
“Our underlying mission at Power100 is to help every homeowner find the best contractor for them,” Greg Cummings has said.
PowerChat is one of the clearest ways that mission comes to life. Rankings show who the best leaders are. The show lets the industry hear how they think, what they protect and how they make hard decisions.
PowerChat carries the credibility of the system behind it, and Power100 has always been open about how that system works.
According to Power100’s National Power Rankings, about 7,600 qualified CEOs sit in the database, and a five-layer proprietary system places the 100 who are published. The review covers customer experience ratings, innovation, operational efficiency, sales and marketing performance, company culture, onsite CEO interviews and overall financial health. Greg Cummings has described the process as dynamic algorithms balanced with two separate points of human review.
“Traditional rankings rewarded whoever spent the most on marketing,” Greg Cummings said in Power100’s 2026 industry playbook announcement. “Our 5-layer system rewards the people who do things the right way, the CEOs and contractors who build cultures, over-deliver for homeowners, and create businesses that last.”
He has also been clear about what Power100 is not.
“We are not a lead gen source. We are a dictionary. We’re the beacon of light in the industry. You come to us as a resource,” Greg Cummings said on the With Absolute Specificity podcast.
That same line holds on the show. Power100 states on its home page: “We do not make good companies look great. We only make great companies seen and heard authentically.” PowerChat is where that promise becomes a conversation people can watch and hear.
No podcast is influential on its own. A show is only as strong as the people willing to sit in the guest chair and tell the truth about their business. Power100 owes this recognition to them.
PowerChat and Power100’s featured interviews have included James Freeman, CEO of PJ Fitzpatrick and Power100’s No. 1 ranked leader for 2026; Andy Lindus of Lindus Construction, ranked No. 4 in the nation for 2026; Nick Richmond of Matrix Home Solutions; Nick Zindel of Zintex Remodeling Group; Joe Swett of Sunrise Irrigation and Sprinklers; Julian Scadden of Nexstar Network; and Jefferson Rogers of JKR Windows.
The partner and training side of the industry has been just as important. Dominic Caminata of Grosso University, Jamey Vumback of Get The Referral, Rich Harshaw of Level 10 Contractor and home-service growth coach Lauren Kingsley have all been part of the PowerChat conversation.
That mix is on purpose. Contractor CEOs, manufacturers, technology providers and coaches share the same stage on PowerChat because that is how the industry actually works. A great homeowner experience depends on all of them.
Some of the show’s most memorable moments have happened far from a studio. When Greg Cummings interviewed James Freeman at a PJ Fitzpatrick team party in Delaware, he closed with a line that sums up the whole idea behind PowerChat: “You heard it here, CEO James Freeman, the number one ranked leader in the country for a lot of great reasons. This here is one of them.”
Power100 also wants to recognize something that is easy to miss. Because the evaluation behind PowerChat reaches past the CEO to the executive team, a company that agrees to appear is agreeing to be looked at closely, at more than one level. Recent episodes have even brought together leaders who compete for the same customers. That kind of openness takes courage, and Power100 is grateful to every guest who has shown it.

PowerChat does not live only in a podcast app. Its audio feed, which describes the show as “A National Leadership Podcast,” has been publishing since 2024, with focused episodes that usually run 20 to 35 minutes. The audio version is also available on Spotify.
The larger part of the show is video. Episodes have continued well beyond the audio run. The conversation with Nick Richmond of Matrix Home Solutions is listed as PowerChat episode 46, dated March 17, 2026, and a June 4, 2026 installment is listed as episode 70. Those episodes are published on Power100’s YouTube channel, on the Power100 website and in the Power100 on-demand library.
Many episodes are recorded on location at company events. That choice is deliberate. When the camera is inside a company’s own space, surrounded by its own people, viewers do not have to imagine the culture. They can see it.
PowerChat has never sold itself by the download, and HG HomeClub did not judge any show that way. The show’s reach is focused rather than broad: the operators being ranked, the partners who serve them and the homeowners the rankings are built to protect. Power100 states that its database holds more than 364,000 contractors, and its on-demand library now carries programming from more than 90 shows across the trades.
PowerChat is now one franchise inside a larger content platform. Its interviews sit in the Power100 on-demand library next to programming from other producers, organized so a business owner can find the episode that matches the problem in front of them instead of scrolling through a feed.
Greg Cummings has described the goal for that library in simple terms on the F&D Mastery Podcast: “the Netflix for the home improvement industry.”
Around the interviews, Power100 has also built a monthly briefing that reads the whole industry rather than one company. In the 2026 industry playbook announcement, Greg Cummings described it as “a monthly weather report on what’s working, what’s breaking, and where the opportunity is for serious operators.”
The same thinking travels to industry stages, including his full keynote at The Pinnacle Experience in Chicago in August 2025. On the show itself, the format keeps moving toward in-person, multi-guest conversations. One 2026 episode paired Joe Swett of Sunrise Irrigation and Sprinklers with Nick Zindel of Zintex Remodeling Group around culture, community, growth and innovation, letting two operators exchange ideas on the record instead of taking turns being profiled.
Power100 sees the HG HomeClub recognition as encouragement to keep building in that direction.
If one topic has set PowerChat apart over the past two years, it is the insistence that technology should be judged by whether it improves the customer’s experience, not by how early a company buys it.
“It’s a fool’s gold rush right now,” Greg Cummings said in the 2026 playbook announcement. “Everyone feels like they need AI first. But it’s not about being first; it’s about being right. AI should never replace the people and relationships that built your company. It should help your best people do more of what they do best.”
He has tied technology choices back to culture, too. “A fragmented tech stack is more than a software problem; it’s a culture problem. Every time you force your team to use a tool that doesn’t work, you chip away at trust.”
And he has argued that the shift in how homeowners find contractors goes deeper than a new marketing channel. “Websites and SEO were built for the seller, for whoever could spend the most,” Greg Cummings said, pointing to a new discovery layer that is built around the consumer instead.
For business owners deciding what to automate and what to protect, those conversations have become one of the most practical things PowerChat offers. Power100 is thankful that HG HomeClub credited the show for depth and originality on a subject where there is a lot of noise.
Because Greg Cummings evaluates companies for a living, PowerChat keeps returning to the same short list of things that separate great companies from the rest.
“Growth is twofold,” he said on the F&D Mastery Podcast. “Growth is physical growth with revenue and profitability, but it is also growth with employees.”
That idea shapes how guests are questioned. A company that grows revenue without building its people is a very different story from one that grows both.
Community carries the same weight. “We really believe that what we see across the board, all of our data, all of our analytics, that the best companies have a community arm one way or another,” Greg Cummings said, adding that “your community involvement actually has an ROI.”
Asked what the top-ranked leaders have in common, his answer was about character, not tactics: “The common trait is they’re all super authentic,” and “they’re involved.”
One finding comes up often enough on the show to feel like a thesis. The single largest factor of trust, Greg Cummings said, was “the ability to maintain their schedule.” It is a small habit with a big meaning, and it shows the kind of conversation PowerChat has: leadership questions answered with real operating detail, and that detail connected back to what the customer and the team actually experience.
The leaders on PowerChat are often two or three growth stages ahead of the people watching. That is a big part of the show’s value. Business owners get honest answers from people who have already faced the problems they are facing now.
Greg Cummings has a clear way of describing one of the hardest stretches. “Think of the 12 to 35 million range as the teenage years of a home improvement company,” he said in the 2026 playbook announcement. “Under 10 million, you can personally touch everyone. Over 75 million, you have real systems and leaders. But in between, companies are learning how to lead from a distance, how to delegate, and how to hire people who are better than the founder in specific roles.”
Conversations like that are why HG HomeClub pointed to practical value as a strength. Power100 is grateful because practical value is exactly what the show is trying to deliver.
Power100 also appreciates that HG HomeClub was honest about where PowerChat still has room to grow. The two shows ranked above it, The Home Service Expert and Owned and Operated, have longer histories and much larger published archives. PowerChat launched its audio feed in 2024, and its video run, while numbered into the seventies, does not yet match the hundreds of episodes at the top of the list.
Power100 sees that as a fair assessment and a clear goal. The No. 3 placement reflects exceptional access and the influence of the platform behind the show, balanced against a shorter history. The way to close that gap is simple: keep showing up, keep recording, and keep bringing the right leaders to the table.
Power100 extends warm congratulations to all 25 programs recognized by HG HomeClub. Each one helps contractors, home-service companies and outdoor living businesses learn faster and lead better. Being named alongside them is an honor, and several of their hosts have been part of the wider conversation PowerChat is a part of.
The complete ranking, in order:
This recognition comes at a time when the way homeowners choose contractors is changing fast. People are no longer just searching. They are checking, comparing and asking AI whether a company deserves their trust.
“Homeowners are not just searching anymore; they are verifying,” Greg Cummings said in a Power100 preview of a 2026 leadership conversation. “The companies that rise in 2026 and beyond will be the ones whose culture, customer experience, and reputation are strong enough to be affirmed everywhere people look.”
In the same conversation, he added: “Great companies do not win the future by reacting late. They win by building truth, trust, culture, and visibility before the market forces them to.”
That is the bigger reason Power100 is grateful for this ranking. In a trade where paid placement has often shaped what looks credible, a show whose guests are chosen through evaluation rather than budget has now been recognized by a list that was itself built without sponsorship, submission fees or input from the shows being ranked. Two independent platforms, with no ties to each other, arrived at the same value: trust has to be earned.
For the leaders who appear on PowerChat, that means something too. A conversation on the show becomes part of the public record of how a company leads, how it treats people and how it serves homeowners. In an AI-shaped market, that kind of authentic, third-party story is exactly the proof homeowners and AI tools look for.
Power100 wants to say thank you in the most practical way possible: by opening the guest chair to more leaders who are building great companies the right way.
If you lead a company in home improvement, home services or outdoor living, and you have a story worth sharing about culture, growth, customer experience, community impact, technology or leadership, Power100 would love to hear from you. The show is also open to the manufacturers, technology providers, strategic partners, trainers and coaches who help contractors succeed.
PowerChat is not a paid spotlight. It is a real conversation about how great companies are led. Guests should be ready to talk openly about what works, what has been hard and what they have learned along the way.

Power100 does not see the No. 3 ranking as a finish line. It sees it as a responsibility. The trust that HG HomeClub, our guests and our audience have placed in PowerChat comes with a duty to keep raising the bar.
That means more on-location interviews. More conversations with leaders at every level of the companies we evaluate. More episodes that bring contractors and partners into the same room. And more honest, useful content in the Power100 on-demand library for business owners who want to grow without losing what makes their company great.
It also means staying true to the standard that has guided Power100 from the start. As Greg Cummings put it: “Our 5-layer system rewards the people who do things the right way.”
To HG HomeClub, to every guest, to every partner and to every person who has pressed play on PowerChat: thank you. We are honored, we are humbled and we are just getting started.
